The course is part of the Jean Monet „European Econmics“ Project and deals with the roots of European integration since the 19th century and after World War II., the preconditions for and origins of comity of European nations. The lecture course continues with the economics integration of Europe, political conditions of European integration and the rise of European association. This is followed by the study of Euratom, the Treaty of Friendship and Mutual Assistance, European Economic Community, Central European Free Trade Area, GATT and the EC.
