- Synopsis:
-
The course slightly links the course Roots of European Integration and is dealing with the problems of forming modern Europe and the process of her integration after the WW II. The lectures concentrate on integration processes in the second half of the 20th century, (again within economic, military and political spheres) and from the angle of continuity and discontinuity of the observed development. The lectures are divided into three parts 1 - the framework of the after-war integration, 2. rise and development of European institutions, 3. problems, development and prospects of European integration after 1986 (after adoption of the Act on Unified Europe). The process of gradual rise of the European Union is explained within the context of the after-war global development. Entering of the Czech Republic into the EU and extension of the integration framework is particularly followed.
