Synopsis:

Time and frequency representation of signals. Discretization of signals, sampling, quantization and coding. Signal transmission, modulation and coding. Coding theory, information theory. Checksums and selfcorrecting codes. Cryptography protocols. MATLAB excercises. Practical applications of coding and modulation.

Requirements:

algebra, matematical analysis, complex variable, comunication systems, systems modelling, programming in MATLAB

Study Objective:

To learn about signals their properties and their time and frequency representation, how are signals transmitted over media (modulation, coding), basic digital precessing of continuous signals, their coding, commpression and ciphering.
