Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to effectively search relevant information in electronic information sources, formulate research questions and relevant hypotheses. They will be able to choose adequate methods of scientific research and apply systemicity in solving scientific problems while respecting the principles of sustainability. Due to the application of advanced methods of scientific work, multidisciplinary and international cooperation and new trends in informatics and statistics, they will be able to formulate relevant and valid conclusions of their dissertation

Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is to acquaint PhD students with the procedures and tools of the scientific work. The initial restrictive assumptions of the dissertation. Definition of the problem, and justification of the aims and purpose of the dissertation. Formulation of research questions and relevant hypotheses. The choice of quantitative and qualitative methods by which the dissertation will be solved. Ethics of scientific work. Verification of the results of the scientific work including proof of its reliability and validity
