The course deals with renewable energy sources and energy systems in buildings. The various types of renewable energy are discussed in detail.
- Requirements:

Completion of the assigned seminar work within the specified scope and deadline.
- Syllabus of lectures:

Solar energy: physical principles, active air and water systems, photovoltaic cells, use of passive solar elements in building energy systems - winter garden solar window, short-, medium- and long-term thermal energy storage, transparent insulation, double facades, energy roofs.
Biomass energy: fuel issues - straw, wood waste, wood chips, pallets.
Geothermal energy: direct use, heat pumps - ground - water - air, heat storage.
Wind energy.
Heat recovery.
Fuel cells for heating buildings.
