Synopsis:

The course acquaints students with optomechanical devices of various types, their optical principles and mechanical construction. It shows practical applications of these devices in industry and medicine. Excursions are part of the lessons.

Requirements:

Attendance, presentation of results of an instrument analysis.

Syllabus of lectures:

eye and vision, microscope

methods and instruments for eye examination

correction of visual defects - LASIK,intraocular implants

lasers for ophthalmic surgery

optical coherence tomography

lasers in industry

spectral instruments - principle

application of spectrometry, hyperspectral cameras

astronomical telescopes

magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography

fibers and fiber sensors

integrated optics
