The course acquaints students with special technologies used in the production of instrumentation focusing on microtechnology and nanotechnology.

1) General definition of micro and nanotechnologies.
2) The atomic and molecular structure of the material.
3) Crystals and crystallography.
4) Crystallographic diffractometry.
5) STM and AFM microscopy.
6) Electron microscopy.
7) Other microscopic techniques to visualize the micro and nano structures.
8) The physical and chemical methods for preparation of microparticles and nanoparticles.
9) The methods of thin layers preparation.
10) The lithographic techniques.
11) Self-organization and replication of the material.
12) Overview of the currently most used nanomaterials.

1) Work with AFM and STM microscopes.
2) Instrumentation for microindentation.
3) Methods of PVD and CVD thin film production.
4) Replication of nanostructures.
5) Measurement of nanostructures on the SEM microscope.
6) EDM manufacturing of microstructures.
