Synopsis:

Introduction to road construction, legislation and regulations, design elements of the route, function of communication depending on its meaning, width layout design - extravillan vs. Intravillage. Urban engineering and the specifics of urban roads, new construction vs. reconstruction, width arrangement of urban roads, parking, public mass transport and its preferences (rail and non-rail), intersections, bus stations. Pedestrian traffic, pedestrian crossings, residential and pedestrian zones, zones 30, adaptations for the blind and disabled, bicycle traffic, earth figure, road objects, drainage, safety equipment on roads. Roadway (and sidewalk) - construction, distribution, application, layer materials, design according to TP 170, implementation. Project documentation - attachments, negative effects of transport.

Requirements:

Submitting the project within the prescribed deadline and scope.

Mandatory participation in training, maximum 2 excused absences.

Continuous correction of work and control during the course.

The above requirements are necessary but not sufficient conditions for successful completion of the course

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Introduction to road construction, complexity of construction design and assessment (safety, traffic flow, environment, economy), historical development of transport, legislation and regulations, dividing of roads, design elements of the route, width arrangement of roads and highways.

2. Urban engineering and the specifics of urban roads, new construction vs. reconstruction, width arrangement of urban roads, intersections, parking (including calculation).

3. Public mass transport (rail and non-rail) and its preferences, metro, bus and tram stops, bus stations.

4. Pedestrian traffic, pedestrian crossings and crossing points, residential and pedestrian zones, zones 30, adaptations for the blind and disabled, bicycle transport.

5. Earth figure, road objects, drainage, safety equipment on roads and highways.

6. Roadway (and sidewalk) - construction, distribution, application, layer materials, design according to TP 170, implementation.

7. Project documentation - attachments, negative effects of transport.

Syllabus of tutorials:

1. Introduction and design of the bus station and bus stop

2. Sample cross-section design

3. Design of a pedestrian crossing, including adjustments for the blind and verification of views

4. Design of traffic signs + appearance of the situation
