1. Electromagnetic radiation and its nature.
2. Sources and detectors of EM radiation.
3. Modern optoelectronic, electronic and mechanical elements and their practical applications.
4. Principles of laser function. Properties of laser radiation.
5. Applications of lasers in science, industry, construction and surveying.
6. Adaptive optics systems and their applications in science and technology and medicine.

Students will be introduced to selected parts of modern physics, the basics of laser theory, radiation sources and detectors, selected modern optoelectronic, electronic and mechanical elements, and their applications.
