Synopsis:

Function of transportations in highway engineering - material aspects of roads and highways. The course covers evolution of highway engineering since the begining of the 20th century with the emphasis of material aspects.

Requirements:

knowledge of physics, basic mechanical / physical approach of material characteristic, basic of geometric road design

Study Objective:

Understanding of pavement design and construction. Introduction of wearing coarses and understanding of road materials behaviour in pavement layers.
