Synopsis:

Students get knowledge in practical applications of radiation and photochemical methods in environmental protection, syntheses of inorganic materials and other applications of photochemistry. Moreover, they get knowledge of chemical dosimetry and actinometry.

Requirements:

1.Basic course of nuclear chemistry.

2.Basic course of ionising radiation detection.

1. Fricke and Fricke-Hart dozimeters

2. Ceric sulphate dosimeter

3. Ferrioxalate actinometry

4. Iodide-iodate actinometry

5. Radiation- and photo-reduction of metal ions

6. Photochemical preparation of cuprous oxide

7. Photochemical preparation of zinc peroxide

8. Photochemical preparation of multi-component oxides

9. Photolitography - positive photoresist

10. Radiation dechlorination of chlorinated hydrocarbons

Study Objective:

Students will achieve practical knowledge of samples preparation and fundamentals of radiation methods, and preparation of dosimeters and actinometers.

They will become proficient in the usage of basic irradiation sources and evaluation of results.
