The subject VTD4 builds on previous knowledge and sketching skills from VTD3. It is aimed at mastering designer sketching in connection with the concept of color. This means in the teaching of drawing / sketching / and in a freer, more experimental artistic connection with color and color principles.

The goal is to learn to perceive color and its interactivity in space and surface, learn to work with color contrasts and composition. Color is the most essential and inseparable component of human perceived space. Appropriately designed colors can influence our perception of dimensionality to a certain extent. Color co-creates our impression of shape, dimensions, proportions and luminosity. By choosing a color, we can also help to understand the purpose of the object or approach its concept.
