Synopsis:

There is currently no specialist in the CR field of study that would provide comprehensive training in respiratory therapy, which includes a qualified assessment of the patient, care and treatment of artificial ventilation in cardiorespiratory failure system states with depression or pharmacological inhibition of neuromuscular transmission.

Requirements:

Knowledge of anatomy, physics, physiology, biochemistry, pathophysiology and pharmacology.

Syllabus of lectures:

Technical Management of mechanical ventilation - principles adversní effects, history, present and perspectives.

Physical principles of action fans and other devices. Mechanical properties of ventilators and respiratory system.

The concept of modern fans - structure, principle of operation, the main blocks, the possibility of failures and false or inaccurate.

Classification and ventilation fans and their relationship to technical solutions. Principles of mechanical ventilation - Invasive non-invasive.

The most common features of conventional ventilators for artificial lung ventilation.

Ventilation technology in home care: oxygen, oxygenators, fans.

Technical Management of unconventional methods of ventilation: HFV, HFOV, HFJV, TGI.

Monitoring components, sensors and monitors, artificial lung ventilation. Potential failures and inaccurate measurement of ventilation parameters.

Advanced monitoring of ventilation, calculation parameters (esophageální pressure, respiration, intrapulmonary ratios, etc.).

Modelling the respiratory system and lung models, possible sources of error.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Calculations of respiratory care - physical principles, conversion parameters.

Measurement of flow resistance, resistance measurement properties of the basic elements of the fan. Nonlinearity.

Measurement of compliance. To the type of plot and the equation of state.

Measurement of mechanical properties of fans.

Measurement sensitivity assisted modes of mechanical ventilation.

Measurements of flow and volume in respiratory care. The influence of media (air, oxygen, nitrogen, heliox, anesthetics, water vapor).

Measurement characteristics of the most common fans for conventional artificial lung ventilation.

Work and measurement of non-conventional ventilators for HFOV and HFJV.

Monitoring and calculation of the chemical composition of gases. Sensors and their properties.

Modern technology - automatic compensation of ETT resistance, demand-flow system for HFOV, advanced monitoring and modeling of the respiratory system.
