Synopsis:

Health psychology builds on the knowledge of general and social psychology. The course focuses on the detailed findings relating to the psychology of disaster victims, trauma and psychological distress. Stress affects the management of mental stress and coping with stress in helping professions, psychosocial issues, post-traumatic stress reactions and psychological first aid during disasters and misfortunes.

The aim is to inform the teaching of the essential psychological problems and saving rescued and prepare students for specific behavior and reactions of individuals and groups in life-threatening situations.

Requirements of Assessment

Active participation in seminars, including homework. Two absences are permitted; leading seminars determine how compensation exercise. Larger absence can be excused only for serious and documented reasons and agree with the Head of seminars form of compensation. Another condition is the processing of credit and a successful defense of two seminar papers. Students will also be workshops during the ongoing testing for the credit must not be judged by one degree F. essay

The test will take the form of a written test. In total, 10 questions with free response. Questions will fully coincide with themes being discussed. The maximum score is 30 The minimum number of points for the quiz is 16 points. Classification is based on the evaluation of ECTS.

A - 29 - 30 points

B - 26 - 28 points

C - 23 - 25 points

D - 24 - 20 points

E - 19 - 16 points

Less than 16 points - F

Syllabus of lectures:

First Victims of traumatic events.

Second Psychological trauma after a traffic accident.

Third The theme of death and dying.

4th Psychosocial assistance to disaster victims.

5th Psychological consequences of mass disasters.

6th Risk groups in disasters.

7th Working with children, adolescents and seniors.

8th How to cope with psychological stress and how to prevent it.

9th Psychological first aid to victims of disasters.

10th Psychological first aid responders (psychological debriefing)

Syllabus of tutorials:

Practices take place through group discussions, analysis of cases from practice drills, play situations and roles.

First Victimology - primary, secondary victims, subdivision (victims of natural disasters, terrorist activities and transport. Accidents)

Second Traffic accidents in terms of disaster psychology

Third Terminally ill, the issue of euthanasia, assisted sebezabití

4th The importance of psychosocial intervention team (PIT), self-help groups

5th The most frequent mass disasters in the world and in the CR

6th Psychological aspects of differences in age, ethnicity, premorbidity, etc.

7th Specific problems of children, adolescents, adults, seniors

8th Ventilation stress, prevention of acute and chronic effects of stress

9th Basic standards of psychological first aid

10th Diagnosis and prevention of burnout, support and supervision of rescuers

Study Objective:

The goal is to further acquaint students with knowledge related to health psychology, clinical psychology, the application of psychological knowledge in the health and psychological care for the sick.

In another section, students learn the stress management, which affects the stress and coping with stress in helping professions. There is also discussed issues of psychosocial care, post-traumatic stress reactions and psychological first aid after disasters and accidents.

The aim is primarily to inform students about the essential psychological problems rescued and saving and to prepare students for specific behaviors and reactions of individuals and groups in life-threatening situations.
