Synopsis:

Maxwell's equations. Constitutive relations. Boundary conditions. Linear and nonlinear electromagnetic media. Electromagnetic waves. Polarization, interference and diffraction of electromagnetic waves. Radiation and detection of electromagnetic waves. Electric and magnetic circuits.

1.-2. Fundamentals of electromagnetic macroscopic theory (Maxwell's equations. Material relations. Boundary conditions. Linear and nonlinear media.)

3.-4. Electrostatic fields.

5.-6. Magnetostatic field.

7.-8. Electromagnetic waves.

9.-10. Polarization, interference and diffraction of electromagnetic waves.

11.-12. Radiation and detection of electromagnetic waves.

13. Electric and magnetic circuits.

Study Objective:

The aim is to introduce students to the basic principles of electromagnetic field theory, the theory of electromagnetic waves, their radiation, propagation and detection.
