Synopsis:

The purpose of this lecture is to introduce the undergraduate students to the study of the physical properties of metals and alloys.

Requirements:

1. Nontransition and transition metals. 2. Alloys and phase diagrams. 3. Lattice defects in metals and alloys. 4. Experiment and theory of ordered alloys. 5. Electron theory of metals. 6. Transport properties. 7. Magnetization processes in metals and alloys. 8. Mechanical properties. 9. Surfaces properties and oxidation. 10. Amorphous metals and alloys. 11. Metal clusters. 12. Metal superlattices.
