Synopsis:

Basic passive elements R, C, L, transformer, cables, delay lines, ideal and practical properties, constant current and voltage sources, Thevanin's, Norton's, and superposition theorems, differentiating and integrating circuits, response for simple signals, semiconductor active elements (diodes, bipolar and unipolar transistors, thyristors, triacs), transistor amplifying stages with a common base, emitter, and collector, cascade, differential, ACDC coupled and operational amplifiers, feedback, linear ICs, pulse circuits (multivibrators, generators, flip-flops, gates, inverters, registers, scalers, decoders, AD and DA converters, digital ICs), power supplies, HV PS, principal stabilising circuits.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

1.Passive, active, linear, non-linear circuit components - substitution diagrams of practical basic components R, C, L.

2.Voltage/current sources - Kirchhoff's laws - Thevanin's, Norton's circuit theorems, superposition principle, and Fourier's transformation of periodic/aperiodic signals.

3.Solution of the differential CR circuit.

4.Active circuit elements - prompt theory of semiconductors, junction p-n - diodes, Zener's and tunnel diodes.

5.Complementary transistors - hybrid parameters - basic transistor wiring equivalent circuits.

6.Field effect transistors, FETs - MOSFETs - CMOSFETs, operation principles, basic parameters, map lines.

7.Integration circuits, main production technology, coating. Logic integrated circuits with bipolar or unipolar transistors.

8.Amplifier types (voltage, current, current-voltage, voltage-current), substitution diagram of real amplifier, pulse rise time, multistage amplifiers.

9.Feedback, fundamentals - positiv/negativ, serial/parallel, current/voltage feedback - amplifier gain and gain stability with or without feedback.

10.Thermal, shot and flicker noises - spectral characteristic, „white“ noise - amplifier input circuit's noise properties.

11.Astable, bistable and monostable flip-flop circuits - realization by means transistors, logic gates and toggle integrated circuits - R-S, R-S-T, D and J-K flip - flop circuits.

12.Power supplies - rectifiers, filters, output voltage ripple - single and double way rectifiers and cascade voltage multipliers.
