Description of rheological phenomena. Review of continuum mechanics. The stress tensor. Motion and deformation. Conservation of mass, momentum and energy. General rules for constitutive equations. Constitutive equations of hyperelastic, viscous and elasticoviscous materials. Viscometric and elongational flows. Flow in channels (RMW eqiation).Fibre spinning and film blowing. Heat transfer in non-Newtonian fluids. Electro and magnetorheological materials.

1. Specification of project objectives focused on some of the following areas
2 Tensorial description of dynamics and kinematics of large deformations and rate of deformation (strain rate invariants). Objective description of temporal changes (Jaumann derivative).
3. Constitutive equations of hyperelastic materials based on the strain energy
4. Constitutive equations GNF(generalized Newtonian fluid). Yield stress. Thixotropic liquids.
5. Differential constitutive equations of viscoelastic fluids (such as Maxwell).
6. Integral constitutive equations of viscoelastic fluids (type Boltzmann)
7. Viscometric flows (flow in a pipe, rotary flows)
8. Experimental methods for identification of constitutive equations in viscometric flows (oscillatory flow LAOS).
9. Engineering Applications: Flows in tubes (RMW equation). Elongation flows. Fibre spinning and film blowing.
10. Heat transfer in non-Newtonian fluids. Electrorheological materials.
