Synopsis:

Garant: Prof. Ing. Jiří Bašta, Ph.D.

The course is assigned to these students, who did not study the study program Environmental Engineeering. The student is acquainted with the branch fundamentals, mainly with fundamentals of ventilation, heating, air pollution, air conditioning and noise control.

Requirements:

Following requirements are demanded:

External environment. Thermal comfort. Physiologic foundations of microclimatic conditions. Air pollution and its evaluation. Thermal properties of buildings. Audit of pollutants in the ventilated space. Basic ventilation. Air humidity. Piping circuits and its dimension. Heat balance of heating space. Basic heating systems.

Syllabus of lectures:

Environmental condition - outdoor environment, indoor thermal environment, air pollution. Building thermal quality - heat tranfer, water vapor permeance, transmission. Ventilation and exhausting - energy and air pollution audit of room, air flow inside the room, natural ventilation, forced ventilation, total ventilation, local ventilation, exhausting equipment, aerodynamic characteristics of hoods, hoods, dust exhauster units. Air conditioning - moist air, changes of state of moist air, dimension of air conditioning equipments. Air distribution - nets of ductworks, duct air flow, dimension of ducts, fans inside of ductworks and its work. Air pollution - separation of pollutants, filtration of atmospheric air. Heating - heat balance of heating room, convection heating, radiant heating, piping nets of central heating, parts of heating nets, warm air heating. Noise - acoustics wave, decibel levels, acoustic wave propagation in the rooms, noise limits, source of noise, noise propagation in the structure, architectural acoustics.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Practise: External environment.
