General knowledge, basic characteristics and distribution according to method of torque transfer. Gear, chain, belt and frictional drives. Specific properties of individual type of drives from kinematical, dynamic and power point of view. Solution of transmission mechanisms with regard to their loading capacity, strength and problematic of their partial elements.

- Theorie of power transfer by means of toothed drives, kinds of geerings, kinematic linkages, dynamics of power transfer
- Losses of energy at power transfer through toothed drives

- Strenght calculations of rolling toothed drives, calculations of their torsional rigidity, determination of kinematic accuracy
- Hypoid toothed drives, specification of strength calculations and durability of drives
- Cycloidal and harmonic drives
- Kinematics and dynamics of belt and chain drives
- Frictional drives, variable speed drives, kinematics, dynamics and durability of drives, design of drives
