Anotace:

The course is related to the course Evaluation of Health Technologies. During the semester, the student will learn in detail about specific types of analyses (cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-benefit analysis, cost-benefit analysis).

Požadavky:

Povinná účast na seminářích, povoleny jsou maximálně dvě absence v průběhu semestru. Předmět je ukončený klasifikovaným zápočtem. Hodnocení bude na základě závěrečného testu. Celkem má student možnost získat 100 bodů, pro splnění předmětu je podmínkou min 50 bodů. Hodnocení dle stupnice ECTS.

Osnova přednášek:

•Introduction to economic analysis in health care. Credit requirements. Definition of central terms and concepts.

•Theoretical foundations of cost-effectiveness analysis in health care and medicine - critical evaluation of economic analyses.

•Evaluation perspectives and associated costs, methods of calculating direct and indirect costs. Cost analysis.

•Valuation of health benefits, QALYs, DALYs.

•Budget Impact Analysis (BIA).

•Overview of basic cost-effectiveness evaluation methods, international recommendations.

•Cost-effectiveness analysis, design, structure, approaches.

•Multi-criteria decision making - overview of methods, sequential weighting, method of agreement and disagreement.

•Discounting, practical recommendations and calculations.

•Decision models in cost analysis.

•Uncertainties in cost-effectiveness analysis, sensitivity analysis.

•Summary and current trends in economic analysis.

•Critical evaluation of economic analyses.

•Structure of cost analyses - perspective, comparator.

•Data collection and calculation of direct and indirect costs.

•Quality of life assessment - calculation of QALY, LYG, DALY.

•Comparison of cost analyses and their input and output data.

•CEA - practical calculation.

•Multicriteria decision making - AHP, CDA - concrete examples.

•Development and calculation of cost minimization analysis (CMA) and cost-impact analysis (CCA).

•Cost-effectiveness modelling.

•Sensitivity analysis - one and two-way sensitivity analysis.

•Sensitivity analyses - probabilistic sensitivity analysis.
