Lecturer:
Tutor:
Jiří Mlejnek, Zdeněk Rybola, Adéla Svítková
Supervisor:
Department of Software Engineering
Synopsis:

Students gain hands-on experience with the analysis, design, and prototyping of a large-scale software system. Theoretical support is provided in the BIE-SWI course that runs concurrently and that teaches students necessary techniques and principles. Teams consisting of 4-6 students will work on a specific project. The teacher, in the role of the team and project leader, regularly consults with the team (at the seminars) both the formal and material aspects of the software design. The resulting software artefact will be further developed and finished in the BIE-SP2 course.

Requirements:

The students are expected to sign up for the BIE-SWI course at the same time as all the theory is explained there. BIE-SP1 is meant as an extension of BIE-SWI to apply the learnt techniques to large-scale and long-term projects lead by a real client (supervisor).

Syllabus of lectures:

There are no lectures. Instead, the students are supposed to sign up and attend the BIE-SWI course.

Syllabus of tutorials:

There are no seminars. The students are supposed to sign up to and attend BIE-SWI seminars to learn some practical examples of the techniques discussed at BIE-SWI lectures so they can apply them to their own project in BIE-SP1. The projects themselves are consulted and presented to the project supervisor regularly on a weekly basis on individually-arranged meetings.

Study Objective:

Students gain hands-on experience with the analysis, design, and prototyping of a large-scale software system. Theoretical supportis provided by the BIE-SI1 course that runs concurrently and that teaches the necessary techniques and theory. Teams consisting of4-6 students will work on a specific project. The teacher, in the role of the team and project leader, regularly consults with theteam (at the seminars) with respect to both the formal and material aspects of the design. The resulting work will be furtherdeveloped and finished in the BIE-SP2 course.
