Synopsis:

The course deals with combining knowledge of the dynamics of rigid bodies, fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, gas dynamics and thermodynamics in the compilation of nonlinear models of dynamic systems. Seminars are focused on assembling of numeric models in Matlab / Simulink.

1. Basic principles of statics and kinematics of rigid body.

2. Basic principles of rigid body dynamics.

3. Vector analysis and multibody dynamics.

4. Modeling the effects of friction.

5. Modeling conditional joints.

6. Identification of the parameters of mechanical systems.

7. Basic principles of fluid mechanics.

8. Basic principles of aerodynamics and gas dynamics.

9. Physical similarity and dimensional analysis.

10. Modelling of unsteady flow.

11. Modeling flow in general force fields.

12. Basic principles of thermodynamics, status changes and cycles.

13. Modelling cycles of heat machines.

1. Basics of work in Matlab / Simulink.

2. Model of golf ball trajectory.

3. Pendulum model respecting passive resistances.

4. Identification of pendulum parameters, processing of measured data.

5. Cable car model, more advanced modeling techniques.

6. Wheelchair slip model, conditional coupling.

7. Four-wheel vehicle model with all-wheel drive and steering.

8. Flow model in U-shaped tube with energy dissipation effect.

9. Flow model in a container system connected by a piping system.

10. Model of hot air balloon.

11. Manual water pump model.

12. Model of internal combustion engine and generator.

13. Consultation on semester project.
