The course is focused on the basics of helicopter aerodznamics, flight mechanics and design.

1.Introduction to the helicopter theory ? types, basic parts, history

2.Helicopter design ? main rotor and rotor blades

3.Helicopter design ? control systém and tail rotor

4.Main rotor aerodynamics ? introduction, basics, hover and axial flights

5.Main rotor aerodynamics ? cyclic and collective control, forward flight

6.BEM theory ? introduction, hover, optimal rotor for hover and forward flight

7.Rotor blade mechanics ? forces, moments, Campbell diagramm

8.Rotor blade mechanics ? blade movement, influence of rotor head design

9.Helicopter flight mechanics ? hover, axial and forward flight, autorotation

10.Helicopter design ? engines, transmisions

11.Basics of helicopter design

12.Autogyro ? aerodynamics, design and performance

13.Ground and air resonance, vibrations
