Synopsis:

Types of airports, organization, data about airports, legislature, choice notions, movement of aeroplanes, flight and touch - down, assesment longitude RWY,aerodrome code, geometric characteristics , ACN / PCN, protective zone, visual aids, traffic processes at the airport, structureof terminals and aprons, proposal airport.

Requirements:

No prerequisites.

Syllabus of lectures:

1. Type of airports, organization, data on airports, legislation, selected terms,

2. Aircraft movement, take-off and landing, determination of runway length,

3. Code marking, geometric parameters and arrangement of selected elements of airports,

4. Operational usability,

5. Obstacle surfaces, protective zones,

6. Bearing capacity of paved surfaces, bearing capacity of other areas of the airport,

7. Visual navigation aids, lighting devices,

8. Airport staging area, check-in processes at the airport,

9. Structure of airport terminals and check-in areas,

10. Design of the airport,

11. Heliports.

Syllabus of tutorials:

* Seminar work on a foreign civil airport

* Calculation of operational usability of the runway (RWY)

Study Objective:

The student will gain knowledge about operation requirements on an airport. He will gain as well detailed information in airfield design and he will become familiar with legislative and regulations for civil aviation.
