Intelligent Transport Systems and Telematics

History of telematics origin its vision and organization construction in relation to the European Union and World Organizations. The basic part of the subject is the system and function classification of telematics. This one is the basis for the more detailed description of the individual systems: management of twon with ITS elements, control of traffic on the expressways, information and navigation systems in vehicles and on roads, intelligent vehicle etc. The part of the telematics systems is also their aplication in the static transport and in the management of the road tunnels. The student is also acquainted with the telematics projects realized or being prepared in the Czech Republic.
Knowledge of principles of traffic control, traffic engineering, electronics and telecommunications.

Relevant knowledge in the field of telematics, principles of its architecture and standardization, application of information and GPS navigation systems both in vehicles and on the road, classsification of safety systems; tunnel operation, including risk analyses, electronic fee collection systems etc.
