Failure by buckling, buckling load, discrete systems and continuum, ideal and practical cases of column, Euler solution, influences effecting critical load, effect of initial imperfections, inelastic buckling, stability of beams under transverse and axial loads, energy methods, systems with plenty of parameters and approximate methods, flexural-torsional buckling of thin walled columns. Buckling of plates, stiffened panels, rings, shells and tubes. Experimental determination of critical load for a plate. Local instability, tension field beams.
