Synopsis:

Application of momentum, heat and mass transfer to environmental engineering. Tools to solution of tasks connected with fluid flow (mainly air and water), heat transfer and water evaporation and steam condensation.

Requirements:
Syllabus of lectures:

Building heating and cooling load calculation: 1D, 2D and 3D heat conduction, boundary conditions, kvazistationary cases, outside and inside climatic conditions. Thermophysical properties of building materials. Vapour diffusion in walls, its influence on heat transfer. Sun and earth radiation. Building insolation, cooling loads from insolation, combination of radiation and convection loads, room temperatures without air conditioning. Heat exchangers: finned tubes, thermal and hydraulic solution of common heat exchanger, influence of changed conditions, water condensation on coolers. Regenerative and sprayed heat exchangers.
