The course provides a short overview of the most relevant concepts in philosophy and ethics from the viewpoint of European thinking and culture. The individual historical periods - from antiquity to middle ages and modernity - are characterized in its substance and specific contribution. The second part of the course focuses on the actual philosophical and ethical issues of modern science, technology and ecology - hence the key fields for future professional and civic life of the students of technical university.
