Synopsis:

Basic vocabulary. Particularity of modelling physiological systems. Models of cardiovascular hemodynamics. Models of cardiovascular system control. Models of respiratory system. Models of neural system. Models of endocrine system and glands. Models of gastrointestinal system. Models of sensory perception.

Miniprojects being solved in groups of 2,3 or 4 students.

Possible topics of the projects:

- Model of heart rate control

- Linear and non-linear pharmacological models

- model of skeletal muscles contraction

- model of kidney performance for blood pressure stabilization

- signal transmission in neurons (mathematical models of neurons)

- pulsative model of cardiovascular circulation

- model of control of breathing

- impact of birthcontrol to parameters of ECG signal

- senzitivity analysis of parameters of the model of electrical activity of myocardial ventricles

Study Objective:

to provide students with a methodology of design and implementation of mathematical models of selected physiological systems
