Synopsis:

Plate buckling. Cold-formed steel profiles. Composite beams and columns. Tubular structures. Stability of frames.

Requirements:

Subjects 134STS1 and 134STS2 are recommended.

Syllabus of lectures:

Plate buckling, class 4 cross-sections. Cold-formed steel profiles - behaviour, analysis, tests. Composite beams and columns. Tubular structures - special features, calculation, detailing. Stability of frames.

Syllabus of tutorials:

Design of beam of class 4 web.

Design of cold-formed C profile onder compression.

Design of un-propped composite floor beam.

Check of tubular structure joint.

Study Objective:

Acquirement of abilities and amplifying knowledge in the field of analysis of thin-walled structures, composite steel-concrete and tubular structures
