Synopsis:

Scope of the subject

The subject provides a brief, clear and integral concept of

medical branches, particularly internal medicine. The

purpose of the subject is to acquaint the students with

basic diseases, primary and secondary prevention of

internal diseases and to define terms associated with the

consideration of the patient health condition.

The student should be able to compare and differentiate

from each other methods of health examination, described

procedures for the basic clinical examination and

understand its principle and importance. He/she is supposed

to know methods of monitoring the patient health condition.

Requirements:

obtaining a minimum of 15 point in the examination test.

examination:

I review the examination test, the composition of the minimum number of 19 points from 30 possible within the scope of literature and reference compounds odpřednášené in lectures. II. correction examination oral (questions are available on the website of the Department)

Warning: interval between the sound and retake tests or remedies must be at least seven days.

4th topic Hematologie basics

5th topic Imaging Methods

6th topic Cardiology basics

7th topic Metabolic disorders, obesity

8th topic Diabetes mellitus, endocrinology basics

Syllabus of tutorials:

1st topic - Medical records (chart, dekurs, include orders for laboratory testing, types of laboratory tests, include orders on other types of examination and subsequent treatment, management methods, safety, security). Rules of conversation with the patient. Practice collection history, lessons learned

2nd topic - Physical examination of the patient (access to the patient, contact with the patient, methodical approach to his investigations, appropriate background, physical examination gaze, touch, tap listening, indicative of neurological, indirect blood pressure measurement)

3rd topic - Diagnosis and modern imaging methods (physical principles, principle, appropriate indications, contraindications)

4th topic - Principles of Toxicology (acute and chronic poisoning, routes of entry toxic substances into the body, metabolism of toxic substances, their excretion, first aid for intoxication)

Study Objective:

Fundamentals of Pathology and Diagnostic Methods is an integrative and closing subject of medical subjects for biomediacl engineers. Its goal is to give a context of diseases to diagnostic findings and elucidate the procedure of obtaining diagnosis and a decision tree based on diagnostic findings.
