Synopsis:

introduction to chemistry, categorization and properties of substances, chemical bonds, chemical reactions, elements in periodic table, organic chemistry fundamentals, natural substances, polymers, analytical methods - instrumental analysis, chemical calculations, chemical equations

Requirements:

Terms of credit: Attendance at laboratory training (at most one absence without apologize).

Terms of exam: Written and verbal exam includes themes of laboratory training.

Syllabus of lectures:

1.Subject and objective of chemistry, definitions, physical value, conformation of atoms, periodic system of elements.

2.Classification and characteristics of chemical materials, compounds, solutions, theory of acids and alkali, state of matter.

3.Chemical bonds, conformation of molecules.

4.Chemical reactions - types, reaction kinetics.

5.Classification of chemical elements, hydrogen, oxygen.

6.s- and p-block elements.

7.d- and f-block elements, biological importance.

8.Alifatic and alicyclic non-oxygen organic molecules.

9.Alifatic and alicyclic oxygen organic molecules.

10.Aromatic a heterocyclic organic molecules.

11.Natural molecules.

12.Basic analytical notions, sampling, expression of answer and their veracity.

13.Instrumental analysis - spectral methods.

14.Instrumental analysis - separation methods.

1.Laboratory regulations, introduction to working in the laboratory of chemistry.

2.Characteristics nonmetal elements and their adducts I (S, P)

3.Characteristics nonmetal elements and their adducts II (C)

4.Characteristics nonmetal elements and their adducts III (P, N)

5.Characteristics nonmetal elements and their adducts IV (H,O)

6.Characteristics nonmetal elements and their adducts V (halogens)

7.Characteristics metal elements and their adducts

8.Acidobazic reaction

9.Analytical proof of metal elements kations.

10.Analytical proof of salts anions.

11.Complexometry.

12.Esters of carboxyl acids and others odourus materials

13.Characteristics of lipids

14.Structure of proteins

Study Objective:

Mastering of chemical knowledge. Mastering of basic chemistry overview, conformation of atoms and its relations with particular characteristics of elements, usage in practice, organic chemistry. To get knowledge and practical skills in analytical chemistry. Important part is mastering of common calculation process in laboratory practice as well as in theoretical researches.
