- Synopsis:

The course concerns the first part of the scientific topic, given by the supervisor and agreed upon by the departmental head. A student pursues the background research, based on journal, internet as well as special book literature, given by the student advisor, included in the official work submission, and further independently searched out by the student. Contact hours represent individual communications with the advisor where current needs are discussed and solved. The course is thus not regularly scheduled.

Knowledge: a background research on particular field depending on a given topic, within the specialization of Physics of nanostructures.
Abilities: independent background research work on a given topic, understanding the problem, producing an original text.
