Steady flow in open channels, flow resistance, velocity distribution, stability of the channel. Non-uniform flow, channel stability, local losses, water level shape. Determination of discharge from known water level course, flow division. Outflow bellow sluice gate. Overflow, sharp-crested weirs, spillways, broad-crested weir, lateral discharge structures, shaft spillway. Bottom drop. Creation of hydraulic jump, kinds and characteristics of hydraulic jump, energy dissipation, stilling basin design. Crossing of watercourse and road, flow through bridges and culverts.
