The fundamentals of the Finite Element Method. Basic principles and methods - Ritz's methods, principle of virtual work, Lagrange's principle, Galerkin's method. Truss element, 2D triangular element. Solution of truss structures. Problem of heat conduction - 1D, 2D - stationary. Algorithmization of the Finite Element Method.

Students will get acquainted with principles of the Finite Element Method and will be able to solve
simple truss structures and problems of stationary heat conduction using the Finite Element Method.
