- Synopsis:
-
Physical monitoring of quantities affecting the environment. Theory of measurements. Theory of uncertainties of measurements. Principles of direct and indirect measurements. Basics of electricity and magnetism. Principles of physical electronics. Measurements of different parameters of media and materials, for example noise and vibrations, coefficient of thermal conductivity, Young modulus, temperature etc.

Attendants will be working in groups and gradually perform basic tasks of monitoring of physical quantities in building profession and living environment. Specifically, the density of solid materials, noise and vibrations, effectivity of different heating devices, specific heat capacity and latent heat, temperature, coefficient of thermal conductivity, Young modulus, electrical resistance and capacity will be measured.
- Study Objective:
-
The goal of the course is to teach the students practical applications of physics in engineering of living environment, especially measurements of physical parameters of the environment and building materials.
