Description of water movement and solute transport in a soil profile. Hydraulic characteristics of porous media. Retention function aproximation, retention curve and hydraulic conductivity estimation.Field vs laboratory measurements. Basics of modelling.

The course will provide knowledge of soil characteristics, solute transport and water flow in soil and soil moisture monitoring.
