Subject extends knowledge obtained in subject Material engineering 1 and is focused on directed design of new types of building materials having better quality and advanced properties. Part of the lectures is dealing with design of materials containing waste and secondary raw materials.

The aim of the subject is to use the information obtained within the subject Materials engineering 1 and to give information on basic principles of directed design of new types of building materials having pre-defined properties. Students will obtain also information on possibilities of application of waste and secondary raw materials in the production of building materials and on properties of such materials.
