The subject is dealing with chemistry of building binder on basis of silicates and related matters. Both chemistry and technology of these matters is discussed.

Main phases of portland clinker, hydration and setting of portland cement.

Hydration heat of cement.

Mixed cements, pozzolana, slag, microsilica.
Chemistry of special cements.
Aluminate cements.
Admixtures to silicate cements.

The goal of study is understanding to behaviour and properties of inorganic bunders. Student is able to evalate suitability of binder for given application.
