Basic principles of PC - brief repetition, history of PC, materials, design of elements, statically indeterminate structures, effects of volume changes of concrete on performance of PC structures, Structures made of PC - buildings, engineering struct., bridges.

Design of a 3 span footbridge

Study Objective:

Understanding of prestressing in structures, ability to design simple structures, understanding of performance of complex structures.
