Tensors, operators and their application in mechanics. General structure of the basic equations of linear and nonlinear statics and dynamics, energy and duality. Principle of virtual work (power), variational principles (Lagrange, Castigliano, Hellinger-Reissner, Hu-Washizu, Hamilton) and their application to particle models, beams, frames, plates and walls. Thermodynamic description of inelastic deformation of materials, principle of maximum dissipation.
