- Synopsis:
-
Subject gives information on materials currently used in practise for insulation of building structures. In the frame of subject are in detail studied physical, chemical and mechanical properties of insulation materials whereas part of them is measured within the laboratory exercises. Subject gives also information on typical applications of particular insulation materials, on their typical multilayer composition and effects of environmental conditions on their performance.

- Study Objective:
-
The aim of the subject is the recognition of currently used insulation materials in building practise. Students will obtain information on the principles of their production, their composition and properties that limit and define possibilities of their application. Within the laboratory exercise will students perform the measurements of chosen material properties that have clear relation to material insulation function. Students will also get knowledge in typical applications of insulation materials for specific building structures including sources of possible failures. Students will master also knowledge in the field of material testing and designing.
