- Synopsis:
-
Advanced theories in the field of stability and non-linear behaviour of plates and columns, modelling of structures.
Field of plate stability: Imperfections, linear and non-linear stability of plates, differences in plate and column behaviour, collapse capacity of plates under compression, shear, local loading and interaction of loadings, shear lag and its interaction with buckling, plate stiffening, rigidity and strength of stiffeners, application of European standards.
Field of column stability and modelling of structures: stability of frames, lateral-torsional buckling of beams, methods of analysis of frames. Cold-formed profiles - distortional buckling, interaction, plates with stiffeners, beams stabilised by sheeting, experiments.
