- Synopsis:
-
Course is focused on complex approach to practice design of the building envelope, flat and sloped roofing, doors and windows, partition walls, floor structures and ceilings.
This course introduces theoretical foundations and computational approaches about two fields of building design: building physics and structure interaction. Integrated design of the nonbearing structures together with other building systems.
- Requirements:
-
Loading effects, history of load, failures and defects of buildings, durability and reliability of buildings and structures, degradation and corrosion, historical structures, diagnostics of buildings
- Syllabus of lectures:
-
Introduction to the integrated design. Building Design and Construction. Heat, Air & Moisture transport. Principles of the building envelope structures (wall, roof, window, basement). Acoustics of buildings. Sound Control in buildings. Principles of the acoustic design. Design of the partitions, internal walls, floor structures, ceilings and acoustic claddings. Principles of the interaction.
