This course serves as preparation for internationally recognised FCE exam. The course develops all skills: reading, writing, listening comprehension, grammar and conversation. FCE exam is an official certificate of knowledge of English accepted and often requested by employers and universities.

1. 1+2 Unit 1 - Lifestyle, Language focus - habitual behaviour in the past, adverbs of frequency, clothes, phrasal verbs with get, writing informal letters
2. 3+4 Unit 2 - High Energy, Language focus - indirect questions, gerunds and infinitives, word formation - affixes, writing transactional letters
3. 5+6 Unit 3 - A change for better, Language focus - comparisons, articles, as?as expressions, word formation - suffixes, writing compositions
4. 7+8 Unit 4 - A good story, Language focus - so and such, past tense and time expressions, phrasal verbs with take, word formation - adjectives, writing short stories
5. 9+10 Unit 5 - Doing your duty, Language focus - obligation, necessity and permission, prepositions, writing - an application
6. 11+12 Unit 6 - Relative relationships, Language focus - too and enough, defining relative clauses, non-defining relative clauses, causative have, phrasal verbs with have, describing people, written descriptions
7. 13+14 Unit 7 - Value for money, Language focus - the present perfect, contrasting ideas, expressing preference, shopping, phrasal verbs with come, letters - a complaint

This course develops all language skills necessary for daily communication. Authenic listening exercises develop ability to work with information in the text, in spoken language emphasis is put on expanding vocabulary and pronunciation. Students are taught how to write a letter, request, CV etc. Grammar skills are also covered.
