Modern materials applied in health care. Molecular materials, nanomaterials and biocompatible materials, shape memory materials, smart materials (properties, clinical applications, material as waste product). Composition and reasons of waste and relevent technology for liquidation of waste. Toxicology. Relationship of waste products to possible health consequences. Waste in health care (separation, liquidatation).

demonstration of the knowledge mastered by a written test, 80 % success rate.
Oral examination on the basis of the decision field supervisor.
caution: intervals between repeated examinations must not be shorter than seven days.

The main aim of this subject is to to provide an integrative explanation of fundamentals of biomaterials including thies relationship to the environment. Subject motivates students to pay attention to the good waste handling.
