Introduction to physics of extreme states of matter with emphasis on the chances of powerful / high-intensity laser systems.

Introduction to physics of extreme states of matter with emphasis on the chances of powerful / high-intensity laser systems.* Definition and characteristics of high-energy-density systems (HEDS). HEDS as a complex physical system. HEDS in nature and laboratory. Technical means for realization and study of HEDS. Laser and beam facilities, state-of-matter and prospects. Seminar: Systems HiPER and ELI. Physics of interaction of laser and particle beams with matter. Warm and hot dense matter, fast particles, relativistic systems, radiation physics. Nuclear processes in HEDS, nukleoreactive systems. HEDS in astrophysics, nuclear and relativistic astrophysics. Physics of extreme systems and fundamental problems of physics. Seminar: Frontier Physics with ELI Beamlines. Potencial applications of HEDS, laser / plasma accelerators, laboratory astrophysics, inertial confinement fusion..* Final student projekt.
