-
Overview of features of the main types of coordinate transforms:
congruency, similarity, affinity, nonlinear transform;
statistical analysis of transformation accuracy;
estimation of unitary root mean square error and its
generalization, namely variance components estimation;
application of collocation method as an example of nonlinear transform;
formulation of Helmert transform by means of complex numbers

- Study Objective:
-
To expand and generalize theoretical knowledge of 2D and 3D coordinate transforms. To get acquainted with possibilities of estimation of transformation coefficients by the least-squares method in case of positional imprecision of the ground control points in both coordinate systems. To present a unique approach to statistical analysis of transformation accuracy.
