Division of road types in accordance to its needs. Basic demands for road materials. Roadbed construction. Pavement definitions and functions with regards to the particular needs. Soil stabilizations and soil improvement. Pavements types - stone pavements, asphalt concrete pavements, portland concrete pavements.

Fundamentals of road pavement construction. Requirements related to road bed, construction layers and road structural materials. Pavements and their structural composition. The choice of suitable pavement construction type. Mechanization of road works. The ability to design and assess the suitable structural pavement type.
